About

One director.
One creative universe.

Chris Harris

I'm Chris Harris — a freelance creative with fifteen-plus years of digital design, illustration, animation, and video under my belt.

I trained as an artist first — traditional media, life drawing, painting — before moving into digital. The through-line is the same: taste, composition, story. What I bring to a launch film is the same eye I bring to a book cover, a logo, or an album sleeve.

I'm also a musician — three self-produced albums, recorded and mixed at home, and composer for film scores and music videos. And a published author. And a traveller, curious about nature, open to whatever's next.

Which means when I take on a brief — video, brand, illustration, deck, world — you get one accountable line to the work: mine. No agency layers. No handoffs. Just craft.

Disciplines, one voice
Why work with me

Six reasons the work lands.

01

A cinematic look, by default

Every frame is directed, composed, and graded by me. Nothing looks like a template — because nothing is one.

CRAFT
02

Strategy-led creative

Before I roll a single frame, I lock the angle, the audience, the offer, and the ask. Craft without strategy is decoration.

STRATEGY
03

AI-accelerated production

I use generative tools where they compress time — pre-viz, iteration, motion, mattes — never where they compromise taste.

SPEED
04

Built for hero moments

I'm not a content mill. I build the piece that anchors a launch, opens a season, teases a world, or reframes a brand — the one asset the rest of a campaign is built around.

FOCUS
05

Premium without the overhead

No agency tax. One director, one creative universe, one accountable line to the work — me.

MODEL
06

Directed by a human

AI accelerates the middle. Taste, restraint, and story stay with me. That's the whole point.

DIRECTION
04 Method / Process
How it works

Six moves, one hero piece.

  1. STEP01

    Brief

    Day 1
You submit the free concept form. I study the brand, the product, the audience, the competitive lane, and the launch stakes. Before I sketch, I understand.
  2. STEP02

    Concept

    Day 2
I return a directed concept — angle, tone, structure, key frames, and a written director's statement. This is the artefact you receive for free.
  3. STEP03

    Build

    Day 3
Production. Motion, footage, generative frames, macro, VO scratch, edit, sound design. The hero film takes shape as one continuous creative universe.
  4. STEP04

    Refine

    Day 5
Two rounds of directed revisions, colour grade, final sound mix, mastering, delivery formats for paid, organic, web, and press.
  5. STEP05

    Ship

    Day 7
Ship day. Hero film, cutdowns, poster stills, and paid variants — coordinated across every surface. What you paid for is what shows up.
  6. OPT.06

    Refresh

    Ongoing
Optional ongoing collaboration: new angles, new cutdowns, seasonal campaigns, iterations on winning creative. Book me for one project or come back for the next.

    08 Questions / Answers
    Frequently asked

    Things worth
    answering plainly.

Q · 01 What kinds of videos do you make?
Everything from launch adverts and product demos to trailers, animation, worldbuilding, and archive restoration. I specialise in cinematic short-form — the piece that anchors a launch, a campaign, an IP, or a story.
    Q · 02 Who is this for?
Founders, brands, publishers, and storytellers with ambition — from premium D2C and Kickstarter creators to SaaS teams, indie filmmakers, book publishers, and game studios.
Q · 03 What do I get in the free custom concept?
A directed concept for your launch film: angle, tone, structure, 3–5 cinematic reference frames, and a written director's statement. Returned within seven days. Yours to keep, whether or not you hire me.
    Q · 04 Do I need existing footage?
No. I regularly build films entirely from generative and motion craft, macro pickups, and licensed material. If you have existing footage, product shots, or brand assets, I'll integrate them — but nothing is required.
Q · 05 Can you help with messaging and creative direction?
Yes — that's the point. Strategy and direction come before craft. I'll help you find the angle, the language, and the story that make the launch land. It's how every project starts.
    Q · 06 How is AI involved?
I use generative tools where they compress time — pre-visualization, iteration, motion, mattes, plates — never as a replacement for taste. I direct every frame. Speed comes from process; craft comes from judgment.

    What clients say

    Directed like a film.
    Delivered like a launch.

Founders, publishers, and product teams on what it's like to work with Chris.

"Chris understood the launch before we did. What came back wasn't a pitch — it was a concept we shipped almost word-for-word. Our best-performing paid ad ever."
    Maya Reyes
    Founder · OBELISK Kitchenware
"I came to Chris with a rough Kickstarter idea. He gave it a universe. Funded in 48 hours — 612% of goal by close."
    Aïcha Sørensen
    Creator · Halcyon Press
"Four weeks, one director, zero back-and-forth. Chris delivered a launch that looked like it came out of a studio ten times our size."
    Tom Okonkwo
    Co-founder · Loomstate SaaS
"Every reference I sent, Chris beat. The trailer felt like it belonged in a cinema, not a launch email — and the audience noticed."
    Clara Vance
Author · The Ninth House IP
"Taste, restraint, judgment. Rare combination in a market full of template merchants. Chris is now our default director for every hero asset."
